Johanna Urman is an associate at James & Associates, LLC, a Boulder-based family law firm. Johanna joined James & Associates in August 2015. She is committed to the principles of client centered lawyering, and strives to serve clients by minimizing rather than maximizing conflict throughout the divorce process. Some clients prefer to work together crafting their own solutions and collaborative divorce allows them to do just that with the peace of mind that comes with knowing their rights and responsibilities.

Johanna received a JD from the University of Colorado in 2012. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a summa cum laude distinction and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an honors distinction from the University of Colorado in 2009.

In May 2016, Johanna was elected to the Boulder Interdisciplinary Committee (BIDC) board of directors. BIDC is a group of lawyers, mental health professionals, mediators and judges who learn and work together with the common goal of assisting those involved in domestic relations cases.

Johanna completed her Level I Collaborative Law Training in December 2015. She regularly attends Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals (CCDP) and the Boulder County Collaborative group’s monthly meetings.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help divorcing families avoid unnecessary pain, expense and conflict through alternative processes that acknowledge that it is the parties themselves, with guidance from their advisors, who are best qualified to determine their future and the future of their children.

About Us
