John is a Colorado-licensed attorney and mediator who draws on his own experience going through the divorce process in order to help parties maintain their center in the context of family transitions.
When called on as an advocate, John is committed to identifying and protecting the legal rights of his clients, and brings a fierce intellect to his research, writing, negotiation, and trial work. He has received intensive courtroom training from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and is specially trained in the Collaborative Divorce model.
John is a graduate of the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as Articles Editor for the Law Review and received awards for his published student scholarship. After earning his law degree, John honed his litigation skills and abosrbed creative approaches to resolving divorce issues while clerking for judicial officers in the Boulder County District Court and as an associate attorney under former judge, experienced litigator, and mediator Sheila P. Carrigan.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California, and has a professional background in media production and post-production. The father of two children, John enjoys facilitating workshops and coaching groups for couples and parents. He pursues a personal practice of mindfulness meditation and yoga, and plays bass guitar for a kirtan rock band.
